Code Week and Robotics

  • Code Week

has become an excellent opportunity for schools to encourage students to learn basic rules of programming, coding, to make their own apps or to build their own robots.

The main goals are to develop competences such as computational thinking, problem solving, creativity and team work which we all know are our desired life skills and to motivate students to participate in various IT and robotic competitions and to inspire students to study programming, robotics and electrical engineering in university.

Our schools will present their IT activities connected with EU Code Week 2020 which took place between 10 nad 25 October and inspire each other for the next year event.

This Genially presentation offers the insight into Code Week 2020 in GIK Hlohovec Slovakia

In Zabór (Poland), this year's Code Week was focused on younger students - aged 7-9. They watched some short lectures from Uniwersytet Dzieci (Kids' University) and practiced their first coding activities.

Polish eTwinning group was also engaged in some coding challenges. We played with robots: Ozobot and Dash and worked with coding mat and colourful pieces of paper to create and describe a coded picture.

During our Code Week we had a guest - a camera operator, who was making a movie about our project group's work for Polish NSS. The film will contain takes from a few chosen schools, situated in different parts of our country, and one school from abroad. It will be published soon - we are looking forward to it!

Here it is - eTwinning film that was partly made in our school :) You can see students from project group taking part in some project and coding activities . And here's a surprise for you, Ivana - you are a star in this movie, too! :)
