Pretest for A1a and measurement with a 30cm gnomon.
Tries to find horizontal places at the school yard using the spirit level.
A girl took also a brick and measured its shadow. Difficult gnomon, but nice try!

Coordinates, latitude, longitude. What are they?
Google maps: we found our school and its coordinates. We found the coordinates of other places (Eiffel tower, Niagara falls, etc).
Personal accounts details in twinspace (user names, passwords) were given to the students. They started using their accounts (Login, pages: Aigio….).

Today we observed the change of the direction of shadows and of sun rays during our school time.
A small gnomon (10.5cm) was placed in our school yard and a note “Please do not touch. Eratosthenes team”.
During school breaks students drew the direction of the shadow and its length.
We also observed that the shadow was getting smaller up to 12.45.
12.45 is solar noon time today in Aigio.
Eratosthenes Project and Internet Safety

Tuesday, 11/2/2020, is dedicated to Internet Safety. It is a great opportunity for us to discuss about internet dangers and how we can use internet tools without exposing ourselves to risks.
That was the main topic of today’s work with our team.

Video created by our student Akis. Subject earth. Only public domain photos and music are used. The video was part of the ICT lesson in multimedia. Maria and Panagiotis also created earth videos and were presented in class.
