Thu-06 Biographies & Stories

  • Presentation of photos of Kalavryta today

    • The student groups presented their photos and explained why they had chosen the sites: partly for reasons of commemoration and history (museum/school), partly for representation of the people’s hope that life continues.

Workshop 1: Biographies of resistance fighters

    • Students brainstormed and discussed on questions how resistance may be defined and which forms it might take. Then they focused different biographies of Greek resistance fighters (in international teams) and created and presented narratives retelling the biographies or incidents in resistance fighters’ lives: diary entries, letters, sketches. The students were very creative and presented novel narratives. [Biographies]

    Workshop 2: Documentary film

    • Other than mentioned in Logbook, the participants watched two sequences (about 40 min) of the documentary “A Song for Argyris”, followed by a discussion in the plenum on questions of how NS had come about, how people could be so cruel, whether things like those may happen again and whether something and what can be done to prohibit such atrocities today and in the future.
