    The drowning of Marzanna

    The custom of melting Marzanna is an old Polish tradition. Marzanna, symbolizing the time of winter and death, is melted with the arrival of spring. It is worth bearing in mind that this tradition is not only related to saying goodbye to winter, but also expresses concern for a good harvest in the upcoming summer season.
    In the past, the custom of melting a madder effigy was more common, although now it has many supporters in Poland.

    Kupała Night

    Throwing wreaths on the water - the most popular custom of Kupala Night is throwing wreaths on the water. This divination is intended for brides and grooms who are wait for great love. The wreath should be thrown into the river so that old feelings towards ex-partners can flow away with the current.

    “Pasca” without dough - a traditional Easter cake in Romania

    Ingredients:
    - 1 kg (sweet) cottage cheese
    - 250 ml sour cream
    - 6 eggs
    - 250 g sugar
    - 6 tablespoons of semolina
    - 1-2 sachets of vanilla pudding
    - 1 sachet of baking powder
    - the zest from one lemon
    - 5 sachets vanilla sugar
    - 150 g raisins
    Preparation
    For the Easter cheese cake without dough mix, firstly, the cottage cheese with the sugar, the vanilla sugar, the lemon zest, the vanilla pudding and the baking powder, the sour cream, the semolina, the raisins, the egg yolks and the beaten egg whites (into a foam).
    If the cheese mixture is too soft you can add some more semolina.
    Cover a round cake tray with baking paper, pour the composition and put it into the oven.
    Bake it for about 1 hour.
    Leave the Easter cheese cake without dough to cool in the baking tray, decorate with icing sugar and cut it when it is no longer warm.
