Located across Marmaris and called Pserimos in Greek, Goat Island is located 4 miles from Bodrum in 6 miles of Turkish territorial waters. According to the Lausanne Treaty signed on July 24, 1923, Keçi Island, on which the Greek flag was flying and heavy weapons such as artillery and anti-aircraft were placed together with Greek soldiers, was left to Turkish sovereignty.

Turkey's southwest coast at the point of intersection of the Aegean and the Mediterranean, Marmaris is a port city of Mugla, the most important bridge opened and the Aegean islands of Rhodes. There are also regular trips from Marmaris, one of the important centers of yacht tourism and blue voyage, to the island of Rhodes.
