1.5 Slovakia

  • Slovakia is a small country in the middle of Europe. Its official name is Slovak Republic.  It is bordered by Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Ukraine. It has about  49,000 square kilometers. It is famous for its natural beauties, the land is mostly mountainous. Highest peak Gerlach 2566m is in The High Tatras. The biggest river is the Danube, the longest river is the Váh.

    Other big cities: Košice, Nitra, Žilina, Banská Bystrica

    The capital city is Bratislava, in the south of the country. Official language is Slovak.

    Slovakia joined the EU 1st May 2004 and we use euro.
