  • Europe Day - Ireland 2021

Europe Day was organised for Friday, April 30th and was an all-day event. The theme of the day was ‘Celebrating Europe’. A poster competition with this same theme was organised for 1st and 2nd year students, with all posters displayed around the school on the day. Winners and runners-up received prizes and badges. A Kahoot quiz all about the EU and Europe was organised and delivered by students to 1st year students. TY2 prepared and presented informative power-points and flipsnack booklets/flyers to educate our first and second year students. Students broke into teams to speak with each class over a two-week period. A competition titled ‘Guess the Flag’ was set up in school on Monday, April 26th with six flags for all students to guess the country of and enter as part of a draw. This stand was visible in school all week. A Eurovision video was made and performed by TY students, featuring lip-syncs and dancing to a compilation of well-known Eurovision songs. This was shown to all students during the last ten minutes of class on Friday, to close out Europe Day. It was also posted to school social media. The school was also decorated for Europe Day with flags, banners and signs.
