THE PROJECT

  • The "Open Windows, Open Minds" Project aims to provide our teachers with individual mobility situations, both in terms of the frequency of specific training courses and in terms of job-shadowing experiences.

    We intend to:

    - develop and consolidate knowledge in areas as important as good human resource management in the light of experiences evaluated and substantiated by other institutions;
    - discover successful experiences in the struggle for greater educational and school success, through knowledge and the implementation of strategies used, lived, applied and evaluated;
    - know practices of using new technologies in the classroom context, capable of creating more active, more substantive and pedagogically remotivating mechanisms;
    - acquire new knowledge validated within the new active assessment techniques, capable of developing new teaching-learning paradigms in our group.

    Depending on the identified needs, options were defined for this project, which include access to structured training courses in five different countries:

    - in the Czech Republic, four mobilities for knowledge of new approaches and ways of teaching;
    - in Italy, four mobilities for knowledge of innovative teacher techniques to raise students' motivation levels in their studies;
    - in Lithuania, four mobilities to explore the use of digital pedagogical tools;
    - in Finland, four mobilities for knowledge of new teaching methods and pedagogical tools to improve student learning;
    - in Iceland, four mobilities for knowledge of the education system in Finland, namely in terms of student assessment.

    With these courses we aim to reinforce the professional profile of the teaching profession and provide innovative and practical classroom strategies by promoting a broader understanding of European practices, policies and education systems.

    Job Shadowing options are based on the consolidation of experiences already started in the countries concerned:

    - in Denmark, two mobilities where we want to learn more about teaching English as a second language, as the Danish results at this level are very positive, the partner being Gistrup Elementary School in Aalborg;
    - in the United Kingdom, two mobilities where the focus will be on primary education, where we have previously established contacts with Ligoniel Primary School in Belfast;
    - in Finland, two mobilities where we want to learn about experiences in the organization and management of human resources, a highly praised and recognized vector in this Nordic country, Oulun Steinerkoulu, Oulu Elementary School, our partner school.
