Cultural Mission with Bebok ARTek

  • Do you remember our Bebok ARTek - the cultural figure in our regional legends that appears on some paintings of Grzegorz Chudy?

At the very end of a school year Bees went for a special cultural trip with a unique mission  - to help ARTek find his girlfriend, who was hidden by bad witch - Heksa! But, let's start from the beginning...

To find MARTusia children took a bus to Nikiszowiec, 100 years settlement of coalminers, as they received this clue from Bebok ARTek. Bees decided to help their friend immediately. Nobody knew what would happen within the Mission.

Bees had to follow clues on the Mission path, resolve many riddles, manage tasks and (scary!) avoid false witch traces! Are you ready to see that?

    START AT THE LAUNDRY
Bees visited the local museum in previous Laundry location and joined the meaning of words

COUNTING ROSES ON A TRADITIONAL PATTERN
Children had to found a building with the rose pattern. Then, divided themselves into two groups and counted its' elements - roses, buds and leaves.

Finally compared whether they counted the same amount. ARTek was proud of Bees' counting skills and observation.

    MAP OF SHAPES

Bees tracked the model of the settlement which is devoted for visually impaired person. They differed the shapes, counted them to fill the task card.

ART SHAPE ON A RED BRICK WALL

If you look carefully, you discover the shape from Miro painting on the brick wall...

    BEBOKS IN WINDOWS

Bees were asked to differ the shapes of windows and count each type of them.

    CLOCKS MESS

It was probably Heksa (Bad Witch) who changed the time on each clock on the tower. That is why MARTusia couldn't meet ARTek on a set time.

    COALMINERS' MEMORIAL

On the brick wall around the church in Nikiszowiec there is a memorial devoted to coalminers who died while working in local coalmine. Here children worked with letters trying to find the names beginning from each letter of the alphabet.

    MARBLE RIDDLE

It`s all about coding. After finding this marble monument in the park, kids decoded the riddle to get the password.

    TASTY DIALECT

Bees were faced with a riddle based on regional Silesian dialect. With a help of coding card they found Silesian version of words connected with restaurant. To manage this task Bees visited "BYFYJ" restaurant, where they got tasty snack and lemonade all together with next clues and a piece of map...

Whenever visiting Nikiszowiec, "Byfyj" restaurant is a must be place. At least if you search for tasty desserts but also delicious food. Bees tried a cucumber soup after their mission, which was yummy!

But before the soup they still had some more challenges to manage!

    PLAYING ON KLOPSZTANGA (BEATER)

Time for playing on silesian playground. No so long time ago children were playing on beater (which we call 'klopsztanga" in Silesian). Children listened a short story about these times and plays, and then tried their motoric skills...

Even Bebok ARTek was trying his best;)

COLLECTING ROSES AND PIECES OF THE MAP

Along the Mission Bees were collecting pieces of the map and roses for MARtusia.

When all the puzzles gave them a map, children had a direct place to go to find MARTusia and free her from the place Heksa kept her.

    MIRACLE MIRROR

Bees found a street and place where a magic mirror and curse hairbrush were lying.

They took a mirror and read a direct address to go to find MARTusia.

    So they did...
On Czechowa 10/9 they used a secret password which was "Czerwony Balonik (Red Baloon)". Doors got opened...
Do you guess what we found there?

    Here SHE is!

    Bad Witch Heksa got lost.
ARTek found MARTusia and gave her all the flowers that Bees collected while the Mission...
But, where they actually landed up?
