Gimnazija "Fran Galović" Koprivnica is a secondary education institution attended by the students with highest academic achievements in the Koprivnica - Križevci county. The school has 680 students, 78 teachers and staff.  It is located in the center of the county and attracts excellent students from the region thanks to its quality classes, a qualified team of teachers and numerous projects and activities it offers to both students and teachers. Students have the opportunity to choose from three different options: general grammar school, language grammar school and science-mathematics grammar school. They also attend extra-curricular activities and join different school clubs.

One of the school's main objectives is to develop and promote subjects which include Geography, History, Biology and Arts since much of the effort so far has been invested in the STEM subjects.  The activities planned are aimed to benefit not only students and teachers, but also the whole local community. Sharing the results of their work and research will also benefit other students and teachers in all EU schools that participate in this project. They will all learn how to connect their ideas, how to cherish and appreciate what it means to have valuable heritage as European citizens.

Our school building is equipped with modern technology (including two classrooms with desktop computers, a classroom with tablets and both wired and Wi-Fi Internet connection) which motivates students but also presents the challenge for teachers to incite students' curiosity in an innovative and creative way. Therefore it is necessary to ensure continual development of  students’ and  teachers' knowledge and skills which will be achieved through the creation of digital and non-digital learning materials.

The teachers and students of Gimnazija "Fran Galović" Koprivnica cooperate successfully with educational institutions in the Koprivnica - Križevci county and with other institutions (IX Gimnazija, Goethe-Institut, French Embassy, Croatian - American Society, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Croatian National Centre for External Evaluation of Education, museums: Koprivnica Museum, Naïve Art gallery Hlebine, Ivan Generalić Gallery Hlebine, Historical Society Koprivnica, Tourist office Koprivnica, environmental institutions, theatres, national and international teachers' associations, CERN.
