First day - Thursday 4 April

  • After the official opening by Mire Mladenovski (President of Euroclio) we started with icebreaker activity and collaboratively discuss the question of what is the main issue in our history lessons. In our table (6 participants) we definitely found a big issue in the position of history teacher against stereotypes which our students believe in.

In the panel discussion How to react to history in the making was most interesting the presentation Climate strikes around the world. The aim of the presentation was in deep connection to our main issue: How can we make the connections between current (European) affairs and history clear and meaningful for students?

The first on-site learning programme was held in the European Solidarity Center (ECS). Permanent exhibition shows the history, events, and impact of the Solidarity movement in seven thematic room, set in chronological order from "The birth of Solidarność" to " A culture of peaceful change".

Wokshop Facing doxad in history by Verena Alberti was dedicated to the topic "Doxas" which we can understand like stereotype too.
