To mark the Day, on the 4th of December 2017, Cyprus have hosted at our school an event with the participation of athletes with disabilities from the athletic group “Hephestus”.

Our students familiarized themselves with the work of the athletes in basketball, using their wheelchairs during a match. The students and their teachers had also the opportunity to practice with hand bikes. 

The students of Grade B created posters which depict the needs and the capabilities of people with disabilities.

By these, they addressed the message that “all people are different, but equal when it comes to their aspirations and the personal fulfillment”. 

The students of Grade C got involved and analyzed the poem “Susan laughs” by Jeanne Willis and Tony Ross. They did a variety of exercises related to the story.
