Art research

  • Art research will include artists in our countries/languages  to inspire our children work.

Brainstorming/mind maps  about art/artists using cooperative tools could be used to share our results.

Pupils in Year 2 at Steeton School, UK, who are aged 6-7, have been finding out about L S Lowry.  We then designed our cards in his style.  We hope you like them!

We were inspired to find out about Frida Kahlo, having seen the work done by pupils in CEIP Manuel Vidl Portela in Pontevedra in Spain.

    We watched this powerpoint.

We drew our own self-portraits, then we designed a frame, based on the work of Frida Kahlo.

NIKA'S TINY HOUSE (Nika Domnik from Slovenia)

Within the project we hosted a young craftsman Nika Domnik who produces works of art from materials that the sea leaves on the shore. She presented us how her wooden houses are made:

The pupils wondered how long does it take to produce a single piece of art.

After her presentation students were full of ideas and they started with their own work. They created a town by the sea from wood, cardboard and other materials.
