On the 3rd of December, Manuel Moldes , a great artist from Pontevedra, died after a long illness.

This is our Posthumous tribute in our Project.

We want to share this information with all our partners.

5th B graders made a Xmas painting on our school windows ,inspired in one of his last works, an ephemeral mural on Pontevedra´s Modern Museum window panes.

He used white paint to simbolize rain and circles are figures you can find in many of his works.

The Big M is the way he usually signed his works.

Our local newspaper, covered the event.

He inspired our Christmas cards as our town was his main source of inspiration.

Manuel Moldes our local artist couldn´t help painting Pontevedra as he said in his last interview.

We started our Art research to inspire our cards visiting our town .

Stone historical buildings, statues, gardens...an endless list of possibilities!

Pontevedra has been a source of inspiration for great Artists. Writers, Painters, Architects...etc

Students from around the world come to study at The Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Vigo located in Pontevedra.

It was very difficult to select only one piece of art as we thought our town has lot of treasures we wanted to share with our partners.

So, we decided to design 18 different cards at least.....one for each classroom at our school.

We took photos, and we selected different "works of Art" which we decorated with Christmas lights to give our creations the aspect of real Christmas cards.

Every class worked cooperitavely to make a big postcard as you could see on the videocall images , and we exhibited them on the school corridors.

Families and visitors expressed their admiration for the work performed.

Then we printed them in a smaller size to be sent to our partners, our town Major and some local newspapers.

Every pupil and teacher, received a copy of the cards they had made so that families could know our work for the Project .

We prepared the cards for our partners we hope arrive safely to their destination. If you don´t receive yours, please do not doubt to ask us for a new copy!

We know our Major loved our work and we´ll be on newspapers again soon.....

Our partners Christmas cards arrival was a big event at our school.

All the pupils and families could watch them at the school main entrance.

A special photo call session was made to cover this event.

Big Postcards were recycled in June to create big pictures for our classroom.

At Peace day,we remembered him with a big mural.

18 classes sharing 9 sheets where  they wrote Peace words and used Moldes inpired pictures.

6th graders with their part from the Big Mural. Here, we can see Pece symbol as Moldes used to draw it in his paintings.

Big M as he used to sign his works and Peace symbol from a closer view.

9 bed sheets from 18 classrooms , pupils were mixed up in groups to perform the task."Misterio + Luz= Pintura" (Mistery+ Light = Painting) was his motto.

We made a roll after having sewed them , to hang them from the school building.

Pupils were waiting for the "painting" to be uploaded.

    Masterpiece on the school.

This video summarize all the activities to celebrate this day.

At Carnival we made masks inspired in "Guerreiros Punka" by Manuel Moldes.

We made big masks to wear on our t-shirts and helmets using materials from sunshine cars window protectors.
