In 1943, in America, the world was a world men. In fact, there was a lot of sexism. So, in this extract, we can see only men because the war and westerns are not for women. In 1943, the America was a republic.

    political and social context

Sexism in America in the 20th century was very important, only men were respected and they were the most important characters. While in those years America was a republic... In this video clip we can see that everything was based on the men and that they were the only ones to be represented for the war... So yes, the political and social context had an effect on this scenario.
