    The birth of westerns

    The video tells us how the Western genre in the cinema take-off many importance at the beginning of the American cinema, it's mainly because it représente some kind of Americans ideals, like freedom, heroism, bravery and independence. The Thomas Edison's production Makémaké some short western films, but the first real Western film appears in 1903, "Great Train Robbery" also created by Edison's production. After this film, the Western genre became essential in the cinema, and many films remake this genre, and they gave a racism representation of the Americans Indians. John Ford became a legendary Western filmmaker by creating "The Searchers". The Western genre got less attention in the 60s because people thought it was too classic and preferring television. Then the Italian Western arrives, directed mainly by Sergio Leone, and it creates the Neo Realism Western in 1959 and "Once Upon a Time In The West" in 1969.

    In 1903, there is a real first Western film which was made "the great train rebbery" by Edison's cameraman.

    * Leon tells about the Civil War plus the war in general in a negative tone
    In 1960, for leone the west became a place of failure and poverty.

    Tuco and Blondie represents a new concept in the western world because they were respectful together. Leone withdraws from the western genre.
    no studio wanted to hire Leone except for a Western Unites Artists. he had a proposal with Henry Fonda and he accepted. they create a movie called Once Upon A Time.
    This film was born in an era that did not want to give a mythological vision which caused the public to withdraw from "Once Upon a Time in the West".
