Cars for the Masses

  • No other invention has changed mobility more than the invetion of cars and more importantly, the advent of the first cars which were affordable to the masses. In the US this process began with the Ford Model T already in the 1920s, while in Europe it was not until the 1960s that a larger number of people could buy their own cars. The Erasmus+ Club at GBN looked at some of the cars like the Beetle, the Fiat 500 or the Citroen 2CV which were some of the first mass produced cars, but also examined the negative effects of the growing number of cars.
