Immigration at a German grammar school

  •

10th graders at Gymnasium Bad Nenndorf have conducted interviews with some of their peers who either came to Germany as children themselves or whose (grand)parents once moved to Germany from an other country. They in fact talked to people from a large variety of countries including Britain, Russia, Vietnam and even Eritrea. The students asked about the reasons for coming to Germany, the language(s) used at home and also differences between Germany and the countries of origin. In reply to the last question interviewees for example remarked that other countries tend to be more conservative but also more welcoming than Germany and that the weather seems to be nicer in many cases.
