The students support committee in 52 OU Tsanko Tserkovski....2017/2018
- The supporting team helped the first grade pupils to organise their Holiday of the Alphabet.
They decorated the classroom, made paper crowns for each one of the young pupils, and prepared surprises for them.
The day when they learned the last letter of the Bulgarian Alphabet, the children invited their parents into the classroom to celebrate the fact that they can read and write. Some of the students from the supporting team were dressed like fairy-tale heroes - The Red Riding Hood, Cindarella, Pipi the Long Stocking. They also organised various games and tasks
3th term outdoor physical activity
- Special and very important guests at our favorite school.... :)
It is the first time in our school that we have welcomed special guests - two ladies guides of dogs, specially trained to find people, burried under avalanches, in earthquakes - rescue dogs. The guests and the dogs worked as volunteers in the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross Organisation. They acquainted us with the special equipment of the mountain rescuers, how they and the dogs work together, how many times they had helped people and how they had even saved human life. We were shown demonstrations how the dogs follow instructions and how they can find burried people. The youngest students were most excited with this meeting.
Several weeks later they went to the mountains, where they met again the dog Jalk. Interesting competitions, games and even more dangerous exercises took place....It was FUN!!! :)
- Football is THE GAME - Coaches and football players from one of the best Bulgarian football teams TSKA visited our school. They had friendly conversations with the students from the 5th, 6th and 7th grade and attended a football matches among the students. The guests were very impressed by the sports skills and incited some of them to practise in the football youth club.
3th term active citizenship activity Worshiping in front of the monument to the heroes
- On the 3th of March we celebrate the Bulgarian national holiday. A group of students participating in ELLEY, gathered around a monument to the heroes who had died in the liberation of Bulgaria. This monument is build in our neighbourhood and we take care of it - we “adopted “ it. We presented flowers on it and commemorated our glorious heroes.

- During the school year the students from the 5-th, 6-th and 7-th grade stay on duty along the school yard and the corridors of the school. They maintain the order and help the younger pupils. As a token they wear green scarfs. The 5-th and 6-th grade students are most active in helping the younger children.
- The supporting team activities - The students from the 5 th A grade helped the first grade students create Christmas cards for the charity bazar. and showed them different art techniques of application.
3th term creative activity 2017/2018
- A special art lesson for the 4 th grade students.
We invited an artist as a special guest, who taught our students different methods of using water colours. They worked with great enthusiasm and created wonderful landscapes. Proud with their results, the students decided to sell their pictures during the Christmas charity bazar.
- Happy Baba Marta - the 1st spring day for the year ( 1st of March)
We, the Bulgarians had a special tradition. On the first of March we give each other the so called “martenizas” (мартеница) twisted white and red threads, an ancient ritual for health. A couple of days before a workshop for creating martenizas took place in the community cultural centre. We designed a little bigger martenizas, because we wanted to decorate a tree with them. This was our greeting to our neighbours.
2nd term physical activity 2017/2018
The students of our ELLEY-class had their first lesson on horseback riding. It was a very enjoyable and exciting experience for each of them.
2nd term creative activity 2017/2018
Special art lessons were held for acquaintance with the ancient Bulgarian national costumes. We learned about the symbolic meaning of colours and drawing on them. We drawn and colored motives from our traditional wines.
2nd term active citizenship actitity 2017/2018
A traditional Christmas charity bazar.
On the 21 st of December, just a few days before the most glorious holiday, a charity christmas bazar took place in our school. All classes joined this activity. Both students and parents sold and bought different hand -made presents, cards, souvenirs, cookies etc. We donated the money on supporting a very expensive medication of sick children.
1st term physical activity 2017/2018
We have established a very good tradition in our school. Every day during the long break, we play Bulgarian traditional folk dances. All classes got acquainted with different folk dances and we perform them to the sounds of Bulgarian folk music
1st term creative activity 2017/2018
The students from the 5-th and 6-th grade got acquainted with “the magic of the theater “.
They attended a professional theater’s performance. After that they met with the actors, visited their cloak-room and received a lesson in acting.
1ST TERM ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP ACTIVITY 2017/2018
All the students from our school took part in collecting wild chestnuts. This idea was suggested from the 5-th grade students. The aim was to collect money for horse riding lessons - a special therapy for a child with a specific decease.

On May 29-th students in 3-th and 4-th grade went to the forest near the school.

Several days before the end of the school year pupils in the 4th grade who have graduated the elementary school acquainted themselves with the European and American traditions of graduating. They made their oun "academic" hats. With these hats they received their first certificates of education...Hooray! :)

May, the 5th Common school sports holiday.
The schoolyard was filled with children again.Children from all classes took part in various games and competitions.
2ND TERM CREATIVE ACTIVITY 2016/2017
Art workshops took place in different classes at 52 Primary school "Tsanko Tserkovski", Sofia.
The pupils made mummers masks. They learned a lot about this tradition, they acquired skills for working with non-traditional materials and techniques. We prepared an exhibition with mummers masks.

A group of our pupils visited an old people house. They read fairy tales to the old people and gave them paintings, especially created for them.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....
Because of the weather in Sofia, we had a real and entertaining holiday in the our school yard, ("Tsanko Tserkovski"), all coverd with heavy snow. The pupils built ice fortresses, they created snowmen and they even made a small igloo. It was a wonderful physical activity.

Students at 52 Primary school "Tsanko Tserkovski", Sofia conducted a Charity bazaar in Christmas.
Pupils sold homemade sweets and souveneers. They collected money to repair the school in village Hitren, which was recently destroyed by a large fire.
