Creative reading workshop
In our country is March the month, when we celebrate BOOKS. Why? Because in March was born and died a famous Slovak writer and collector of Slovak folk tales - Matej Hrebenda -Hačavský.
Last week we had some reading activities. We read an interesting book O psíčkovi a mačičke which was written by and Czech writer Josef Čapek. This book is about honest and affectionate friendship between dog and cat.
We had a quiz „Millionaire“ which was focused on understanding of text. Then we had another quiz based on looking for treasure, which was hidden by the dog and cat.
Our next activity we named „Readings detectives“, where kids looked for words which started with the same letter like chosen words from the book.
In the last activity was to prepare a poor night dress. According the story the dress was very poor and sad, so we decorated it.

Every year we celebrate March as the month of books. We usually go to the library to talk with a librarian about books and writers. This year we decided read stories about animals. We read them at our reading lessons and then we drew some pictures.
