This phase takes 1 hour.
1.The teacher reads to her pupils the story "Dear Zoo". The maincharacter is a child who writes to the zoo to send him a pet, but he receives animals who can't live in his home, because they are too big, dangerous or wild.

2.The teacher proposes stimulating questions and guides children to understand that animals' homes are somewhere on Earth, in different places suitable for their specific characteristics.
-“Have you ever visited a zoo?”
-”Which animals did you see at the zoo? Do you remember?”
- “Have you seen at the zoo any animals presented in the story?”
-“Do you think a zoo is the real home of each animal?”
-”Have you seen animals who live in water/cold climate/ hot climate/ ground/ among plants?”
3.At the beginning, the teacher lets the children listen to "Habitats song" a few times. Then, they sing the song all together. This song will follow the pupils during the whole project.
