Number 7 is probably the most important number in the world of magic. E.g. in Harry Potter books number 7 appears many times (Harry was born in the 7th month of the year, the Weasleys had 7 children, there are 7 years in Hogwarts School, ...)
Therefore Magic of Numbers class consists of 7 tasks / assignments. Some of them are really easy and won´t take you much time. However, some others may take you a bit longer.
Remember that you are a member of a team, a SMILE House. If you score points, you also get points for your team. :-)
TASK 1 - SEVEN GOOD QUALITIES OF A GOOD WIZARD / WITCH
In this task you need to collaborate with your housemates. Use the FORUM (called "Seven Good Qualities ...") so as to discuss and together agree on 7 good qualities. You can brainstorm the qualities first and then vote which is the most important, which comes next, ... Then one of you uploads your list on the noticeboard below.
TASK 2 - SHOOT THE NUMBER and SMALL OBJECTS
The teacher of DADA class will certainly agree that being nimble and fast is sometimes very useful too (remember e.g. the Battle of Hogwarts). That is why in this task you are going to practise these skills.
Besides fantastic animals there are also fantastic flowers and you can see some of them in the two pictures. Your task is to choose one of them and shoot all the hidden numbers and small objects. After the game make a cutting of your results and upload it in the column of your Smile HOUSE on the noticeboard below.
Of course, you can play more times and upload your best result. Remember - there are 3 hints you can use for free. However, results with more than 3 wrong clicks will be disqualified.
Example of the cutting:
TASKs 3 to 6 - DO THE LIVEWORKSHEETS
There are four liveworksheets created especially for Magic of Numbers. You are going to improve not only your maths skills, but also logical thinking, reading comprehension and listening comprehension.
When you have done a worksheet, click on FINISH and then EMAIL YOUR TEACHER. My email address is boro-mira@email.cz so use this address.
TASK 7 - CODED EVALUATION
In one of the previous liveworksheets you practised decoding, now you are going to pracrise encoding and at the same time you are going to evaluate your work in Magic of Numbers class.
Write a sentence or two to evaluate your work - was it challenging for you? ok? easy? which part did you find the most interesting? the most enjoyable? ...
When coding, use exactly three different numbers instead of the letters, e.g.
"I rea11y 1iked the 7ide0s. E7erything was 0k, n0t t00 hard, n0t t00 easy f0r me."
Upload your message in the column of your Smile HOUSE on the noticeboard.
