Horia Hulubei (b. November 15, 1896, Iași, Romania - d. November 22, 1972, Bucharest, RS Romania) was a Romanian physicist, full member of the Romanian Academy.
Horia Hulubei has trained generations of specialists in atomic and nuclear physics. At the same time, he also distinguished himself by important scientific discoveries. Thus, it obtained - first in the world - X-ray spectra in gases. To this end, he has built a special spectrometer of his own design. The Romanian scientist also has important contributions in neutron physics, in the study of transuranic elements, in the study of nuclear reactions, especially regarding the nuclear interactions at low, medium and high energies. He also studied the decay of monsoon.
For its merits, Hulubei has received numerous scientific distinctions both at home and abroad, while at the same time being a member of numerous prestigious national and international academies and scientific societies.
