     (b. January 10, 1799, Benești, Vâlcea county - d. October 2, 1875, Bucharest)

     He was a Romanian educator, inventor, engineer and mathematician, a full member of the Romanian Academy.

    During his studies in Vienna and Paris, at only 28 years old, he patented the world's first reservoir heel, first in Vienna, then in Paris (patent 3208, of May 25, 1827), entitled Endless Porter Condé, feeding himself. ((plume portable sans fin, qui s'alimente elle-même avec de l'encre).

    He  becomes the holder of the first patent obtained by a Romanian.
