SECOND MEETING

  • Erasmus+project meeting at the 2. Gymnasium Eleftherio-Kordelio

After the first successfull project meeting in Itzehoe, students and teachers alike were very eager to continue their good cooperation. They couldn't wait to meet again at the second meeting which had been sceduled for the beginning of March.

At March 3rd the German school held a parent's gathering in order to give to the parents and their children the latest updates concerning the upcoming study trip to Thessaloniki.

The Greek school had organised a fantastic project plan. They had found ways to embed our project activities not only into their daily school scedule but had contacted a theatrical group, the German consulate in Thessaloniki, the Jewish museum and local authorities for cooperation with our project. Everything had been planned with great care and the school looking forward to executing the second project meeting.

Starting from March 13th the German school closed its doors due to Covid19 and a travel ban was set in place for all school trips. Greek schools closed a few days later.

Everybody was very sad about these developments and the uncertainty was hugh as to how we could continue the Erasmus+ project facing a situation which we had not thought possible.

Though the project coordinators were seeking ways to continue the project activities, their main duties at their schools to organise daily lessons in a completely new setting and home office left little room for further project activities. Facing these difficulties it is astonishing that the project coordinators found ways to finish a new project application for the next term.
