A Discussion on Being Active Citizenship

    by Lithuanian Team

    # takethecitizenshoesout  action:)

Citizenship cannot occur once a year, it is a daily process of relations to the State.

48 years ago, a man whose name was Romas Kalanta became a true symbol of civic resistance to the occupation, and 18 years ago May 14th was added to the list of memorable days. Active citizens who love Lithuania, who believe in Freedom, who are strong and active at any difficult moment are our strength and hope. Whether we face information warfare or a pandemic, or another disaster, we are responsible for our country.

Today Lithuanian team had an online Zoom meeting and a discussion about being an active citizen. The most important thing is that civic concentration and responsibility should unite us not only in the face of threat but also every day. Volunteering, being an active member of youth organizations, creating and participating in projects like this, working honestly are the key steps that we should take. Citizenship lies in simple everyday things.
