  • The objectives will be achieved by the following activities:


    Main activities of the project


    - Teacher training in different areas of Permaculture
    - Setting up school permaculture gardens in each participating country
    - Involving pupils in environmental and social activities and Permaculture practices
    - Involving parents and members of the local community in the social practices of Permaculture
    -Teacher training in different areas of Permaculture
    -During the whole duration of the project and via teacher mobilities, teachers will gain knowledge in
    the following areas:
    Introduction to Permaculture
    Ecosystems. Interactions and connections within and among ecosystems
    Material and energy cycles in different ecosystems
    Biodiversity and its importance in ecosystem resilience
    The role and importance of soil, healthy soils and soil development
    The role and importance of forests, opportunities of a forest garden
    The role and importance water ecosystems
    The role of plants and animals in ecosystems
    The role of pollinators and pollinator supporting plants
    The role of energy, collecting and storing energy
    Permaculture design
    How climate change already affects ecosystems in the participating countries

    -Teachers can learn from the experiences of the other countries, from the differences of climate and microclimate and the different responses that are given to those local challenges
    - Permaculture site visits during teacher mobilities.
    - How to develop a school garden
    - How to involve parents and the local community

    What is the potential of schools to boost and drive change in the local communities and to find/offer
    local solutions to the challenges of climate change
    Setting up school permaculture gardens
    Each school is going to start its own school garden.
    Activities include:
    Collecting pots, gardening equipment, etc. from the local communities
    Producing seedlings
    Setting up vermiculture bins
    Setting up vegetable beds
    Planting, nurturing, harvesting
    Mulching, composting, vermicomposting
