Write a letter to the school headmaster, suggesting ways how to make peace in the school you are in, and in the world in general.
Mr. Headmaster of our school,
As a student of this school, I would like to have a peaceful environment everyday either here in our school either in this world in general. Here are some ways I can suggest you what we can all do to make peace in the school.
First of all you can ask children what peace they think it means. Peace may look a little different to everyone. Please do not tolerate any kind of bullying. Lay down ground rules at the beginning of the year that are posted for everyone to see.
Also, I suggest you organize an annual event like a musical or a theatrical performance giving “Peace” as a theme and challenge the children to find their stories and songs about peace. Teachers may teach the history of peace and conflict, help children to study about different countries and cultures and make a research and writing about peace education.
Moreover, let the students to participate in the care of their school environment showing respect for the materials of school, the plants around the school yard, and other students.
In addition, give emphases to the respect of traditions and customs found around the world when studying geography, history, and other cultures. In particular, don’t argue with parents, or other teachers in front of the children because you must be a good example. Therefore, speak respectfully about other people, don’t gossip and show kindness. Don’t forget that children are watching every move of you.
Fınally, as a school headmaster, I suggest you organize a peace site, giving information about peace education and we, all students, teachers and parents can post and suggest ways to have a better peaceful school life. We may also share some personal experiences that will preoccupy everyone.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Mr Soteriou,
I am writing this letter to suggest ways to make peace at our school. Firstly, each student’s classroom should be declared as a ΄΄peace zone΄΄. This means that the teacher should not tolerate any bullying or fighting in the classroom. In this way, students will know from the beginning of the year that it is not allowed.
Secondary, the school emphasize the importance of diversity. There are a lot of students who come from other countries and therefore have other customs and traditions. Therefore, students should learn to respect everyone’s beliefs. I think it would be a good idea to consider having our school named an international peace site.
Lastly, I believe you should choose ΄΄peace΄΄ as the theme for an annual event like a musical or mid-year performance. In this way, all the students can participate to find poems or songs about peace which would then be presented as a school celebration.
I hope you find these ideas useful.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Theodoulou Eraklis, G4
Dear Mr. President,
I’m writing to you today to suggest some ways about how to make peace in the world, ways to make it more peaceful and less violent.
First of all, when we see some people fighting we have to stop them and of course we mustn’t act like we don’t see them. We have to provide some help and if we can’t, we should call either the police or we can tell someone who is able to stop them.
Also all the people have to firstly respect themselves but especially the other people. But if someone violates your expectations in ways you dislike that’s a sign of disrespect. Nowadays, a lot of people behave with rudeness and underestimate other people.
In addition, a huge problem that prevents peace to come to the world is racism to people with different color, beliefs, policies and religions. For example, if we read an article about people from other countries that are prevented from travelling to some places, we must act by writing our opinion in other articles.
There are many signs which show that we don’t live in a peaceful world, but this has to change. Also as Pope Francis said <>. However, more and more individuals and various movements begin to promote peace awareness.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response.
Your sincerely,
Patsalidou Maria, G4
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m writing to you to suggest ways to promote peace in our school. One of the ways that we can promote peace in our school is by defining the world “peace” with our students. We can ask students in our school what they think the word “peace” means.
Also we can teach conflict resolution skills, through role-play different situations that are noticed amongst the students. Another way is to choose “peace” as the theme for an annual event like poetry recitation, musical or other performance.
Moreover, we can encourage the students to help care for their environment. This teaches respect and love towards the others. These are my suggestions for how to promote peace in school.
Yours faithfully, Sofian Theodora, C’5

Dear United Nations organization,
We are writing this letter because we want the peace between the countries.
You could save money to spend with other projects like: rebuild old schools, hiring more doctors to avoid queues or giving houses to poor people.
You could help us by non permitting the buy-sale of arms.
Our slogan is: >>DO NOT MAKE MONEY FROM THE WAR!<< Do you like it? We hope so.
Yours sincerely,

Our suggestions on how to make peace in the World
Dear Authority, Decision Makers and Responsible Functionaries,
In my opinion, peace is of great importance. You cannot live a truly happy life without it, since you must have it each day to be able to get through difficult times, or just boringness of ordinary days. It seems like a quite easy issue as everyone can have it, but actually that is not the case.
Some people struggle with living in peace, they do not know how to achieve peace or how to use it for their own good. Some people does not live in peace because of their countries. For them a possible solution could be ending the wars. It sounds like a pretty important thing, but if all the countries could talk to each other about their disagreements between each other, finding a way to solve their problems would be a huge result that could change the whole World in a positive way.
If the number of violent cases was decreased, millions of people could find peace. Furthermore, all the reasons what makes people fight with peace include bullying or not respecting someone else’s skin colour or nationality.
If all the people could look the same way at everyone, like nobody is different or nobody is better or worse than others, and respect their inner values they wouldn’t feel being left out. It can help them live much more bravely and happily.
Politics may cause a lot of stress in an average person’s life. Each country has a different idea concerning politics and because of this, a lot of conflicts may appear. It might cause people stress, especially when they cannot control it, thus they can live with it only. Sometimes we might get jealous of citizens who live in a country whose politics are far more sympathetic to us. If each nation and each country would have the same or at least very identical politics, we could live without stress in our everyday life.
These are my ideas and suggestions about how to involve peace in everyone’s life. I believe that peace is a extremely important in its every aspect and I would be more than happy if my ideas could change just a tiny bit the World or open some people’s eyes about it.

DEAR PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP,
THE PERSON WHO IS WRITING TO YOU IS A 10-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO ATTENDS THE 5TH GRADE CLASS OF THE ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO Q.O.FLACCO IN MARCONIA IN THE PROVINCE OF MATERA.
I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE SITUATIONS I SES EVERY DAY THROUGH THE NEWS AND THE INTERNET.
I OFTEN THINK ABOUT THE HUMAN RIGHTS THAT IN THESE TIMES ARE NOT RESPECTED AND PROTECTED AS REQUIRED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CHART OF RIGHTS GUARANTEED BY THE O.N.U.
AT SCHOOL WITH MY TEACHER WE HAVE STUDIED THAT THIS INSTITUTION SHOULD PROTECT AND ENFORCE THE GUARANTEES, PROVIDED BY IT, TOWARDS THE WEAKER HUMAN BEINGS SUCH AS CHILDREN, POOR PEOPLE, MIGRANTS, VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE AND DISCRIMINATIONS, PEOPLE TAKEN IN SLAVERY.
I WOULD LIKE TO HELP YOU TO FIND STRATEGIES TO BRING AND KEEP PEACE TO ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD.
I JUST GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE.
THIS YEAR I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE TO THE ERASMUS PROJECT VISIT IN BARCELONA. WHEN I WAS THERE I MET MANY STUDENTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. WE ALL HAD FUN, PERFORMED IN SHOWS, SONGS AND DANCES TO EXPLAIN WHAT THE WORD PEACE MEANT TO US. EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE, WE HAD A VERY NICE TIME AND, ABOVE ALL WE FELT AS IF WE HAD MET FOR A LONG TIME. IT WAS NATURAL FOR US NOT CARING ABOUT OUR RELIGION, SKIN COLOUR, SEX OR COUNTRY ORIGIN. WE BECAME FRIENDS BECAUSE WE HAD RESPECT OF EACH OTHER. THAT’S ALL. SO I THINK THERE’S NO NEED OF SUCH COMPLICATED STRATEGIES. RESPECT IS THE ONLY FEELING NEEDED AND WHAT THE WORLD IS LACKING OF IN THESE DAYS. PEACE IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. PEOPLE SEEM TO WAIT THAT PEACE SHOULD COME FROM SOMEWHERE, BUT IT SHOULD COME FROM US AND IT DEPENDS ON ALL OF US. IF PEOPLE RESPECT EACH OTHER, THINGS WORK. SO ADULTS SHOULD FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF YOUNG.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD FOR YOUR REPLY, TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY SUGGESTION.
BEST REGARDS
FRANCESCO MALVASI
