• Dates

First and second debates: 28^th May (Group 1 vs. Group 3; Group 2 vs. Group 4)

Please check students’ availability (maybe after 4 or 5 p.m. Lisbon time)

Third and fourth debates: 4^th June

• Topics (28^th May)

Groups 1 and 3 – Drug testing on animals should be banned

Groups 2 and 4 - Obligatory homework should be banned.

Note: The topics for the 4^th June debates are “The internet has done more harm than benefits for democracy.” and

“Kids and teens who regularly play violent games are more prone to violence.” These topics should NOT be disclosed to students now.

• Emails

Students should be given the group’s email addresses and asked to agree on how they will prepare their arguments.

Students should be given the following documents:

Students should first read documents 1 and 2 and write down any questions they may have or ask the teacher.
