Healthy Lifestyles Guide

  • This section of the guide will be coordinated by Spain.

It will contain the activities that partners consider convenient to include to deal with healthylifes at school or at home.

Each partner must provide three possible activities (previously implemented at school). All activities will be analysed, compared, assessed and implemented by partners.

Your gift for the right thing

Croatian students and teachers organized a volunteer action. Action for Citizens in Need was held at Solidarity Week (December 8-15). The action was organized by the Red Cross City Society in collaboration with the students of the school. 28 school students were involved in the action. They were collecting hygiene supplies and groceries at the mall throughout the week. All food and supplies collected are distributed to citizens of lower social status.
In the sociology and biology class, we discussed philanthropy and how important it is to the well-being of the shell community.
Students distributed leaflets at a nearby mall at some time to encourage citizens to buy groceries that students had collected in one special basket.
The students were organized into several teams. On weekdays, two teams volunteered from 12pm to 8pm (each team four hours each).

Activity#1 "Healthy lifestyle checklist" / Latvia

Leading a healthy life is more than just having a healthy diet.
Healthy living requires following certain habits and routines each day.
It is like a puzzle put together from many small pieces.
During this activity Latvian students gathered information about different components of healthy lifestyle. They created a checklist, that helped them to interview their patents and teachers.
At the final stage of the activity, students wrote advice letters to their parents and teachers, to suggest the ways how their lives could be improved.

    Activity#2 "Personal Hygiene" / Latvia

To improve the knowledge of physiological processes during the period of sexual maturity, Latvian students took part in a funny "Hygiene bag" activity.
At the end it looked like girls needed much more hygiene products. Why is it so? Are they all really necessary? Or is it just another advertisement trick?

Activity#3 "Recognize your emotions" / Latvia

The main idea of this activity was to understand that emotions themselves are not good or bad. What counts is - what we are doing when influenced by them (emotions).
Students wrote emotion diaries and shared their experience with others.
