The St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Naval Cathedral is the dominant visual and spiritual feature of Karosta sharply contrasting with the surrounding panel apartment blocks.

Sightseeing Kuldīga

The Kuldīga District Museum is located in the place where the town’s history starts. The legendary Bangert’s Villa stands on the picturesque banks of the River Venta. We had a chance to travel 120 years back into the past and have a look into the apartment of a well-off Kuldīga dweller shown in the museum’s exhibition!

Sand Caves of Riežupe

Total length of sand caves of Riezupe ir roughly 2 kilometers. We visited 460 meters of underground caves which has rare allurement. The story goes that labyrinths of the caves has unsual power...
Temperature in the caves is constant all year long - eight degrees centigrade.
Caves has been constructed for four generations.

Shooting ads

The main task for students was to shoot an ad to promote a healthy lifesyle. They had great ideas!

How to prevent bad habits?

Students participated in 2 h workshop to find out the causes and consequences of addictions. They analyzed media influence, and looked for the ways to avoid addictive substances in their lives.

Karosta Prison

Karosta Prison is the only military prison in Europe open to tourists. It is recognized as the most unusual and surprising hotel in the world.
During the tour, we saw the prison that practically has not changed since the time of the Tsar, found out about its history, saw the prison cells and the solitary confinement cell, as well as heard interesting and spooky stories about prison life.
