Planetarium exit
An astronomy outing to the station des étoiles at La Féclaz was held on Tuesday 16 October from 6 p.m. to midnight approximately. We observed the sky and attended a planetarium session.
This evening allowed:
- To observe the sky with the naked eye and the telescope to locate constellations, important stars (including the Polar) and the most beautiful objects visible in the sky that evening (too bad the weather played hide and seek)
- to measure the height of the Pole Star in the sky by different methods:
approximate with an angular estimation thanks to the hands and fingers and precise using the graduated circles of the equatorial mounts
- To model the position of the North Star according to the place of observation to exchange with our partner countries
We were initially supposed to take photos with a professional who was unable to join us.
Following this evening, the students answered a satisfaction questionnaire, the answers to which are given below.
In English here is the questionnaire:
- How would you rate the quality of the reception?
- Do you think the outing was suitable for your level?
- Do you feel that this type of outing is more beneficial than a traditional course?
- How would you rate the trip as a whole?
- Do you think the techniques for measuring the height of the North Star can be used again?
- What concept would you like to cover?
- Before this field trip, did you want to improve your knowledge of astronomy?
- If not, would you like to learn more about astronomy today?
