France\Germany: Netiquette and online awareness

  • C3- Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils

    Topic: Netiquette and online awareness

Leading School: Deutsch Französiche Gymnasium - Lycée Franco-Allemand, Saarbrucken, Germany

    Date: 25 - 29 November 2019

The third leg of the journey in our Erasmus project took us to Saarbrücken, Germany. The main aim of this meeting was to reflect upon dos and don'ts on the Internet and to encourage safe behaviour online. To shed some legal light on the intricate issues of fake news and hate speech, we worked in collaboration with the Europa Institut of the law department of the university in Saarbrücken.

Pupils also answered polls to try and define the way they behave and present themselves on the web. To wrap up this week, they produced tri-fold brochures to raise awareness and promote safe behaviour on the Internet

“All work and no play made Jack a dull boy”.

Of course, this Erasmus mobility was also the opportunity to discover what France and Germany have the best to offer at this time of year, and particularly Christmas markets on both sides of the border in Trier and Strasburg.

We were also fortunate to visit the European parliament and witnessed some of the Members of the European Parliament interventions on the day parliament confirmed the new European Commission.
