    Christmas Cards

While waiting for tor the most beautiful holidays of the year the students from 6, 7, 8 grades followed the traditions of making Christmas cards, tried to create modern ones and the most beautiful cards sent to the project partners to Poland, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The Art teacher helped students with different drawing and painting techniques and the English teacher encouraged students to write greetings to project partners.

Before this creative task, students got acquainted with the history of Christmas cards. They found out that Santa Claus was just a character and his appearance on New Year's cards was the idea of businesspeople. To sell Christmas cards longer, they started writing congratulations on the cards - "Happy New Year!" The Christmas cards illustrated people going to church, admiring the star of Bethlehem, decorating a Christmas tree or celebrating the birth of Christ. Even today main characters of the postcards are Santa Claus and angels. Interestingly, Christmas cards always depict winter, a starry night. In addition to Christmas cards with winter landscapes, which usually illustrate snow-covered churches, homesteads, animals, spruce twigs, candles, toys, artists' paintings are also allowed.
