Science day in Croatia was held on the 6th of March 2020 (close to International Women’s Day). The idea was to introduce and expand the knowledge of women in STEM.
-
Around 400 students aged 14-18 participated directly or indirectly. 80 students prepared materials about women in STEM, and other students were involved as listeners or participants.
-
The activities included: making bookmarks, preparing leaflets and handouts on the topic and distributing them, visiting classes, treasure hunt.
-
The benefit was raising awareness about women in STEM, about science in general and showing our mainly female students that they can have a successful career in STEM in 21 century by presenting examples from the past when this was less usual, but still achievable.
