BREAK ACTIVITIES TO REPLACE DIGITAL DEVICES

  • Break Activities to Replace Digital Devices

Students work together to come up with alternative activities for being online during breaks and their free time. These insights should help them use their mobile devices much less and experience the advantage it will have for their concentration and wellbeing in general.

The Students start the activity with writing down the time they are online during one day. They share this with each other and discuss the impact it has on their school work. After that they have to think about activities they can do to replace their activities on social netwerks or other online activities. They have to divide these activities in schoolbreak activities and activities in their free time.

In order to carry out the task as efficient as possible they have to work on the project based method, therefore they have to divide tasks and give feedback on the tasks carried out.

The participation in this activity will help students to be more offline. This will help them to become less stressed and more focused on their school related tasks and can help prevent them to become school drop outs and so help to reduce the early school leaving.

These activities and the experiences they have with not being online all the time will be shared with the students of the participating countries. They will advise the students with their findings for alternative activities.

Students from each country have worked in teams to design a plan with activities to replace the use of digital devices during break times at schools, then they have explained the activities to their peers in their schools and shared photos of them implementing and practicin those activities with the rest of the countries to get even more ideas on how to spend their free time in a much more healthy way.
