MOBILITY TO SPAIN

  • King's Ely students travelled to Albacete to explore the Spanish Heritage, participate in the local Carnival Festival and compare Spanish to British traditions. 

    Mobility Tasks: During the week, all students took part in a series of collaborative workshops and worked, with their partners, on their Padlets where they described, reflected and documented their experiences.

  • Trip to Albacete: exploring heritage

    We started the day getting to know each other, playing some icebreaking games!
    We had fun playing musical chairs with a twist!
    Fun, fun, fun! Who is falling from the chair?
    We enjoyed sharing our Heritage presentations that we had been working on, with our partner students in English and Spanish!

    Gastronomy, Festival, Music, Geography! What makes us Spanish and British?

    More presentations took place!
    We started working collaborately with our partners on a Blog Diary on our experiences from the week.

    Students are using Padlet and they are including aspects such as Festivals, interview to the host families, the Carnival parade etc..

    We started working on our costumes for the Carnival!
    We enjoyed a traditional Merienda on Chocolate con Churros in a traditional Chocolatería in Albacete

    We are flags! Students had the opportunity to take part in a real Festival and learn in first person how important Festivals in Spanish culture are. Students also worked with their partners about the origin of the Carnival and other famous festivals in Spain and Albacete.

    We enjoyed a historical and heritage walk around Albacete.

    We saw the traditional Bullfighting Ring, the Cathedral and the Museum of Cutlery and Knives as Albacete is world known by this industry!

    All our Erasmus students participated in El Carnaval de Villarrobledo as part of our search for the Spanish heritage!

    Enjoying family time during the weekend!

    Students spent the weekend with their host families,learning about life in Spain and working on their collaborative Padlets.

    A wonderful, beautiful, sunny day in Toledo.

    We had a panoramic view and a guided tour of the city. Students had the opportunity to walk around the narrow streets and gather information to work on their collaborative Padlets.

    We spent the afternoon in Criptana admiring Don Quijote's windmills and learning about Cervante's world known novel Don Quijote de la Mancha.

    Geography lesson in Las Lagunas de Ruidera!

    Students had a Geography lesson in the National Park of Las Lagunas de Ruidera, where they learned about the formation of the 15 famous lagoons and how these formed River Guadiana.
