WHAT MAKES US BRITISH, FRENCH AND SPANISH? VIRTUAL ACTIVIY

  •  All our students have been working on what it means to be British, French and Spanish by exploring their heritage and reflecting on stereotypes and tolerance before and after travelling to Spain and La Reunion.

French presentations on how La Réunion is a true melting pot where many religions and cultures live peacefully, formed the basis of the students' collaborative workshops and visits during our Mobility to the island.

These presentations were also exploited in one of the workshops carried out in our Mobility to Albacete, where Spanish and British students presented their PowerPoints orally to partners in the target language.

During normal lesson time, students from all three countries, saw and discussed the presentations from each country, learning about history, festivals and geography in Spain, La Réunion and England as we are UNITED IN DIVERSITY!

Watching each others’ presentations allowed pupils to think critically in MFL lessons by discussing the following points:

    • What is different in the heritage seen in partner’s presentations and ours and what is the same?
    • Why is different good?
    • What is a stereotype?
    • Why stereotypes can be negative?

British and Spanish students also had the opportunity to learn more about La Reunion island, specially for those who did not travel there, through the online games created by the French partners, which they designed  in their own English lessons.
