Scoala Gimnaziala "Sfantul Vasile" Ploiesti, Romania
“St. Vasile” secondary school is one of the most important public schools in Prahova region (almost a million inhabitants), an area with a rich historical and cultural heritage.
It was first founded in 1895 by the nearby church.
“Sf. Vasile" school provides
pre-primary, primary and
secondary level education to over 900 students, aged 5 to 14.
The school staff is engaged in motivating the students to learn and in creating a welcoming and supportive educational environment. The teachers are involved in tutoring children through overtime, offering them counseling and moral support. They are also preoccupied with professional self-development, so they attend in-service training courses for teachers -both local and European - to help them cope with the students' problems.
The institution policy supports and encourages the development of any type of projects and our goal is to foster healthy team-work, drive students away from bullying practices, strengthen the bond between school and society, and, finally, create a safe, peaceful intellectual environment, where students with diverse abilities and skills will be given the opportunity to flourish.
