    Day2 in short video

    Day2

The second day of our second short - term exchange of the groups of the pupils was excursion day. Although the weather was not so gut as we wished, we travelled to the near sheep farm in Dlhé nad Cirochou.

This sheep farm is very unique and these days also well - known.

Sheep farm belongs to the top of agricultural companies for primary production not only in Vihorlat region which is the place where this company was established.

Although there is very high competition in Slovakia they try to hold our share on local market with agricultural commodities and very flexible react on the needs and demands.

This was the reason for them to renew this tradition of the region - focus on sheepfarming and make sheep milk of high quality and nutritionally and healthy products.

Thanks to the director of the sheep farm our students and also teachers had a great opportunity to find out daily farm life, sheep life cycle constist of grazing, indoor housing, feeding, milking, shearing etc.

The process of sheep milk cheese production was very interesting. We could see that whole process runs manually.

In the afternoon we visited MiniZoo in Snina.

Staff from this company prepared for our students educational activities.

Students could prepare their own sheep's milk lump cheese by themselves. It was unforgetable experience for them and we hope that their cheese had delicious taste.

We ended the day which was full of milk and cheese and other Slovak products and national crops and typical animals with horse - riding which the company offered to our students and they very happily enjoyed it.
