Madeira -Gonçalves Zarco School
Just before Christmas break we went on a field trip to the oldest and biggest bookshop in Madeira. We invited the students of our Senior College to join our adventure and discover the hidden treasures of the Livraria Esperança. It was great to explore the boohshop's space and take part on a scavanger hunt that got us to work together.
Being surrounded by so many books was awesome! :)

A BIT OF POETRY IN SZCZEBRZESZYN
During the trip we visited SZCZEBRZESZYN – a town with a difficult name. The name is used in a Polish tongue twister, especially difficult or even impossible to pronounce for foreigners:
CHRZĄSZCZ BRZMI W TRZCINIE W SZCZEBRZESZYNIE 😊
CHRZĄSZCZ is an insect
BRZMI = buzzes
TRZCINA = a reed that grows on banks of many lakes in Poland
It means: A BEETLE BUZZES IN THE REEDS IN SZCZEBRZESZYN
In Szczebrzeszyn you can find a monument of a beetle (chrząszcz). It's probably the only town with a monument of an insect, which became the symbol of the city.
Our students standing by the monument read out loud a poem about a beetle in Szczebrzeszyn.
