Somewhere in the past, we don’t know when, lived one boy named Ian. Ian lived in a rich family. His parents were well known lawyers. When he was 10 years old, his father was promoted and had to leave to Italy. And there started Ian’s story.

Ian was sitting in a plane and thinking if he finds some friends in Italy. Before his family sat into the plane he had tried to persuade them not to leave their home in Ireland. Unfortunately, unsuccessfully. When they arrived to Italy, Ian didn’t want talk to the parents. His mother wanted to improve his mood and took him to the animal shop. When he was leaving the shop, he was holding a huge aquarium with a green snake in it. It was a venomous mamba, which eats meat and insects. He gave her name Isabelle.

Some days later Ian went to his new school. Despite his fear, first day at school was quite cool. He found a lot of friends there. His ˮ friends ˮ were the most popular kids at the school. In Ian’s class there was also a boy named Joe, who wanted to be friend with Ian. But there was one problem. Ian was so lofty, that he didn’t want to be friend with someone, who wasn’t from rich family. After few weeks Ian heard from someone that his ˮ friends ˮ gossiped him and just made use of him.

One day, his class went to field trip to the museum with exhibits of Antarctica. As Ian with his ˮ friends ˮ were admiring a huge igloo with an Eskimo in, he asked them: ˮ Is it true, what people are saying, that you just make use of me and gossip me? ˮ One of them answered: ˮ Did you really think, that we will be friends with someone like you?ˮ They turned and left him alone. Ian was disappointed. How could he be friend with them? How could he be so blind?

Days were passing and Ian couldn’t find any friends. One day, Joe stopped by Ian´s school-desk with the question: ˮ Did they finally kick you off from their group? ˮ Ian didn’t answer. But Joe didn’t give up and a week later they became friends. They sat together at the lunch, had a lot of fun, they often went to the park and visited each other. Ian realised, that the real friend can’t be bought.

Niekde v minulosti, nevedno kedy, žil raz chlapec Ian.

Ian sedel v lietadle a premýšľal, či si v Taliansku nájde kamarátov. Jeho matka mu chcela zlepšiť náladu a zobrala ho do obchodu so zvieratami.

O niekoľko dní neskôr šiel Ian do novej školy.

Dni plynuli a Ian si nemohol nájsť žiadnych kamarátov.
