Naples is a large town in Campania region. It has more than 900,000 inhabitants and it is located in a gulf dominated by the volcano Vesuvius.
It was the capital of the Bourbon kingdom and more late of the reign of the two Sicilies.

National Festivities
Capodanno January 1st
It celebrates the first day of the year . The fireworks are one of the classic celebrations of the Capodanno.
Epiphany January 6th
It’s a Christian celebration and it is celebrated 12 days after Christmas . Epiphany comes from the ancient Greek “ I make myself manifest“. It is the festivity that traditionally ends the Christmas season. There is also the tradition of gifts to children or sweets in the sock hanging if possible at the fireplace. The gifts are brought from the Befana (personified by an ugly but good old woman, a kind of witch with flying broom)only to good children. For children who have not been good, she brings coal.
Easter Monday
It’s called “Pasquetta” and It is the day after Easter. On this day the Church remembers the meeting of the angel with the women who came to the tomb angel. Usually in this day we take a walk or a picnic with friend

It Is celebrated to remember the workers battles for the workers rights
Republic Day June 2nd
It Is a civil celebration to remember the birth of the italian Republic. It is celebrated with the military parade in front of the Head of State, in Rome.

On this day we celebrate two festivities: the religious celebration of the Assumption of Mary in heaven
And the civil celebration of Ferragosto
that is traditionally dedicated to trips with large packed lunches. Among the games and jokes of Ferragosto there is the gavettone, a joke that consists in throwing water towards someone .

A Christian celebration. It remembers the glory and honor of all the Saints
Immaculate Conception Day December 8th
It’s a Catholic celebration; it sanctions as the virgin Maria was immune from the original sin.
