    Description

For previous evaluation about refugee crisis, key competences, attitude towards refugees and immigrants learning centre “EVA-93” used quiz created by the organization “Open Migration”. It is a multi-issue organization that supports and empowers civil society groups working in addressing some of the most  pressing human rights issues faced by the EU today, through a combination of capacity building on policy analysis, advocacy, media strategy and public education.

After quiz all participants compared results and got the next task – to prepare presentations about all topics that was mentioned in a quiz, so all participants could increase baseline information about refugee crisis.

As our students attend only 160 hours long courses and study programs and our Learning centre focus on teaching adults in their workplaces, we also offered our cooperation partners to take part in the Project activities so it will be more easy to make post evaluation for the same people. We have signed The Cooperation Agreements with SIA “RNS-D”, SIA “LīvMet”, SIA “JuN”, SIA “Dioferr”, SIA “Būve - L”, SIA “Līvānu Bioķīmiskā rūpnīca”. The Cooperation Agreement states that the organizations mentioned above will take active part in our activities – such as seminars, workshops, pre and post evaluation surveys, video’s creation in their organizations etc.
After we signed The Cooperation Agreements, our Learning Centre teachers visited these organizations, so employees of these organizations participated in Attitude Survey: Attitude of Latvian inhabitants towards asylum seekers and refugees. 142 employees with different level of education and different professions and from different economic sectors took part. After the Attitude survey our teachers showed awareness – raising materials (1 hour long presentation) to these employees and all participants had a discussion.
Subsequently after survey data collection we wrote the Research Paper - Attitude of Latvian inhabitants towards asylum seekers and refugees.

We presented the Research Paper in Livani District Council and published the Research paper in our webpage www.eva93.lv , also we got information from Livani District Council about materials they need the most - medical availability as doctors in our region speak only Russian and Latvian and Livani District Council does not provide interpreter so it is a very big problem. Also Livani District Council invited us to take part in debates about municipal civil protection plan as in Latvia questions about refugees and immigrants are considered as a part of civil protection since October 2016.

    Evaluation

For previous evaluation about refugee crisis, key competences, attitude towards refugees and immigrants to determine the starting point that can be used to compare it with the final results quiz “Quiz: what you know (or you don’t) about refugees” http://openmigration.org/en/quiz/what-do-you-not-know-about-refugees/  was used.

For students knowledge level evaluation we used the Survey, to evaluate how teachers involved in awareness-raising campaign evaluate each other we used evaluation form http://www.visidati.lv/aptauja/1258808416/

    Dissemination

As it was impossible to organize a meeting in one day, we divided our school community in two groups and all results of quiz done and the Protocol about the meeting was displayed on the bulletin board in our educational institution.
