    FIELD TRIP n°1 : The Vasarely Architectonic Center (Aix-en-Provence) - November 21st, 2016

    Before to go to this field trip, the french students learnt many things about the Abstract Art and about the great artist Victor Vasarely.

    Here are some materials they worked on :

     
     
    Then they went to Aix-en-Provence, and visited the Vasarely Architectonic Center.

    FIELD TRIP n°2 : The Le Thoronet Abbey - January 23rd, 2017

    Before to go and visit the Le Thoronet Abbey, the french pupils worked on the Golden Ratio, its properties and its fabulous links with Sciences, Nature and Art.

    Here are some materials they used :

    Then they did more researches about the Golden Ratio and about the Le Thoronet Abbey, creating some Powerpoint presentations or Word files.
    On January 23rd, we went all together to Le Thoronet to discover this incredible place, which is a very peculiar place of our local heritage.
    Le Thoronet Abbey is a former Cistercian abbey built in the late twelfth and early thirteenth century, now restored as a museum. It is sited between the towns of Draguignan and Brignoles in the Var Department of Provence, in southeast France.

    Here are the pedagogical materials edited by the Le Thoronet Abbey (Centre des Monuments Nationaux (*)).

     
     

    (*) The "Centre des Monuments Nationaux" is a French government body which conserves, restores, and manages historic buildings and sites which are the property of the French state.

    FIELD TRIP n°3 : The Saint-Tropez Citadel - April 4th, 2017

     

    Preparatory activity : March 1st, 2017

    Today the French students benefited from a meeting with Luc Domallain, an Architect who works in collaboration with the "CAUE du Var" (Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement  du Var).
    Thanks to M. Domallain, they prepared their last field trip to Saint-Tropez in April.

    Today the French pupils worked about the hexagon properties using Geogebra in the ICT classroom.
    They continued to prepare the last field trip they'll do on April 4th.

    Several weeks after this field trip, the French students further worked with their Art teacher about the "collinaire" housing environment, mixing landscapes and Architecture. They created some housing units based on hexagonal modules.
