OUR MATHEMATICAL STORY AND THE TREASURE HUNT
As a part of our Maths Storytelling activity, we decided not only to write a story with mathematical elements. To have as many pupils as possible participate in this activity, we organised The Treasure Hunt at our school premises.
To take part, our pupils had to prepare their mobile phones or tablets with a QR code reader application, their pens, curiosity and maths skills. They scanned QR codes placed in different classrooms, read the story - section by section, and solved mathematical tasks contained in the story. To get a stamp and go to the following section, the pupils had to write the procedure and the solution. It was a real challenge!
The fastest ones were Ivor and Matej, our 8th graders. The second prize was won by our 5th graders, Andro and Martin, and the third by Luka and Vito, the 8th graders. The main prize was the book of mathematical stories. All winners received the certificates, and all the participants were given a treat. The activity was planned, organised and led by our maths teacher, Mrs Horvat, and the mathematical story was written by our 8th graders, Ivan and Fran.
