In our work with working with different authors and reading outdoors and in new places, we have taken help from working with different well-known authors in Sweden.
Part of that has been to teach us about which authors have written which books. See attached document!
We have visited different classes and read together, the older students had a chance to read to the younger ones, and the younger ones had a chance to read to the older ones. We have trained in retelling and "daring" to read aloud to each other, no matter how far you have come in your reading.
Unfortunately, it was difficult to visit a nursing home. Instead, we chose to visit a class we have never worked with before!
We have also read outdoors and continued working with well-known authors.
One teacher is saying:
I first posted a picture of the author Astrid Lindgren and asked if they knew who it was. Then we made a mind map where they could tell about different books they knew Astrid Lindgren had written. We then immersed ourselves in Pippi's long sock. Read a fairy tale, drew pictures and watched movies.
At the library at the end of the week, many wanted to borrow Astrid Lindgren's books. When we got to the classroom, we collected some of the books they had borrowed and then they got to vote for a book I then read, Karlsson on the roof became it. Then we ended with a few different film clips from Astrid Lindgren's different tales.

Jag satte först upp en bild på författaren Astrid Lindgren och frågade om de visste vem det var. Sedan gjorde vi en tankekarta där de kunde berätta om olika böcker de visste att Astrid Lindgren hade skrivit. Vi fördjupade oss sedan i Pippis långstrumpa. Läste en saga, ritade bilder och tittade på film.
På biblioteket i slutet av veckan var det många som ville låna Astrid Lindgrens böcker. När vi kom till klassrummet samlade vi ihop några av böckerna de hade lånat och sedan fick de rösta på en bok jag sedan läste, Karlsson på taket blev det. Sedan avslutade vi med lite olika filmklipp från Astrid Lindgrens olika sagor.
