2.Structured course-Teaching English creatively

  • This structured course entitled Teaching English Creatively was led by Alan Marsh in Malta from July 4th to July 9th in Malta. It was found in the School Education Gateway catalogue and it is organized by Carob Institute.

It is a follow-up course aimed at primary and secondary school teachers who have already attended the structured course Teaching English – Motivating Learners and Preparing for CLIL, also led by Alan Marsh.

Both structured course offer various techniques and learner-centered approaches to make the teaching of English as a foreign language fun and efficient. The participants could take a very active part in the lessons and activities which are often collaborative and innovative on the pedagogical ground.

Alan showed us and made us discover and practice different ways of teaching vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, story-telling and man other skills involved in teaching. The participants could experiment the activities and thus consider them from the learners' point of view.

It was also a great opportunity to discuss pedagogical matters with other teachers from other European countries and to discover more about their educational systems.

Some of these activities and approaches will be shared (and discussed) with our colleagues in a school workshop and they will be included in the two participants' syllabus with their own classes.
