C5 – Development and implementation of school-based waste management systems (joint-staff training)

  • C5 - Poland 6-10 June 2022

Before our meeting in Poland each school prepared reports about the improvements introduced from the beginning of the project. Each school also created draft plans of the Waste Management programme for schools.

During the meeting the hosts prepared initial quizzes about Poland and questionnaires of expectations. The programme of the meeting and its objectives were presented to the guests. All teams discussed the improvements introduced to their schools thanks to Erasmus+ project and presented their versions of Waste Management Programme for schools. A final version of Waste Management Programme was created by all the partner schools by discussing and combining ideas from all the teams. Then the final version of the programme was consulted with municipality representatives. During the final project meeting Waste Management Programme was analysed and discussed thoroughly one more time by all the partners and resources needed to implement it were identified.

Our guests visited ZSP nr 1 in Rędziny. They walked around the school and school yard with students. They also visited places of historical and cultural importance to Poland – Warsaw, Cracow and Częstochowa to gain a deeper insight into Polish culture.  Each participant of the meeting received a certificate of attendance at the end of the meeting.

Thanks to the Erasmus+ project all the participants were able to observe good practices in the school organization and local policies concerning waste management.

At a professional level, communication, critical thinking, data manipulation and cooperation skills were improved. Participants developed their presentation skills and their level of English.

At an interpersonal level, the project strengthened the connections among participants who spent time together, exchanged professional and personal ideas, found out more about each other, about the systems of education, problems, concerns and trends. This gave all the partners a new perspective on the project.

At a personal level – teachers became more motivated, developed self-confidence and self-management and broadened their intercultural horizons.

At an intercultural level, participants got to experience Polish culture first hand, becoming more aware of the similarities and differences that hold us together in the EU.

The host teachers have improved their organizational skills, team work, problem-solving skills and will be better prepared to face unexpected challenges in future Erasmus+ projects.
