Groundwater might be invisible to us, but its impact is visible everywhere.

It’s hidden under the ground out of our sight but it is more precious than gold or diamonds. Our survival depends on it.

Nearly 97% of the world’s water is salty and undrinkable. Another 2% is locked in ice caps and glaciers. That leaves just 1% of freshwater we can use for our needs and almost all of the liquid freshwater in the world is groundwater. Our climate is changing. It’s getting warmer and warmer therefore the precipitation has been steadily decreasing. That makes groundwater  critical to the future of humanity.

We need to think and work together on environmentally sustainable use of groundwater.

Groundwater may be invisible, but we must keep it in mind.

Our students are aware of that so they have decided to take the one minute challenge to celebrate World Water Day. To take part in #MyGroundwaterStory challenge students had to shoot a 60 second video about groundwater in their town.  So here is our groundwater story!
